While the climate cools down the event season heats up, opening innumerable opportunities to celebrate successes and enjoy a host of gallery openings and performances before delving into our holiday wish lists or jetting off to the fundraiser ball. We at LuxuryLifestyle.com are taking a slightly different spin on luxury and charitable efforts with the 2nd Annual Fireball Run Transcontinental Rally and Race To Find America's Missing Children. This high end auto enthusiasts' event blends the competitive spirit of a car rally with the enjoyment of a great american road trip and a mission to help find America's missing children. We are proud to sponsor this incredible event which in 2007, in its inaugural year, led to the rescue of 12 missing children. We hope you'll join us online and support us on the road as well!

The Rally

The 9 day, 3500 mile rally begins in the city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana on September 25, 2008, making stops in Shreveport and Bossier, Louisiana; Jackson, Mississippi; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Tupelo, Mississippi; St. Louis, Missouri; DuPage County / Chicagoland, Illinois and all points between. The teams will cross the finish line in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 4, 2008.  Each participating team sponsors a missing child selected by the Child Rescue Network, who is the official beneficiary of this year’s Fireball Run. Team 98 (that's us) is sponsoring Yamile Aguilar, who along with her sister Vieridiana, were abducted from Shafter, CA on September 6, 2005 by Hugo Garcia Aguilar.  We encourage you to assist us and the other Fireball Run teams in bringing awareness of these missing children through your own communities in hopes, like last year’s event, that we can collectively and collaboratively return as many children to their families and homes as possible. You can help raise awareness for all the children sponsored in the rally by adding this slideshow to your blog, website or profile page.

The Style

In the grand tradition of the very best sequels (Back to the Future II, Police Academy II - 7, Beverly Hills Cop II, and many more) the 2nd Annual Fireball Run "Back to the Track" has an 80's theme. Always appropriate in any situaiton, LuxuryLifestyle.com turned to recent FIDM grad Tara Kauffman, who generously donated her time and to coordinate the “raddestâ€? retro-80’s designs for our adventure.  We’ve uploaded our wardrobe and accessories to ClosetCouture.com, to help Tara keep us organized and select the best outfits for each day of the Rally.  Our favorite part about ClosetCouture.com is the feedback other ClosetCouture.com members and stylists can provide to us. Pictured left is the Team #15 "Time Car" owned by Bill Nigh, whom we'll be competing alongside. Although it must be said, time travel may give them a slight advantage.
