Pacific Coast Wine Festival—riding high on the momentum of last year’s second successful event—returns for the third year with a sensational evening highlighted by an exclusive wine auction and gourmet dinner. Taking place on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the chic Island Hotel in Newport Beach, this year’s event includes a sumptuous dinner, extraordinary wine tastings, roaming sommeliers, and both a live and silent auction with an enticing assortment of coveted wines and other auction items, including one-of-a-kind gifts and experiences. Considered an important fundraiser, the event’s proceeds benefit Pacific Symphony’s many artistic and education programs—making the experience perfect not only for wine enthusiasts and collectors, but also for those who wish to support the Symphony.
Each year the festival grows in scope and spirit—with last year’s dinner and auction attracting hundreds of guests and netting approximately $125,000 for the Symphony. Chaired for the third year in a row by Symphony board members Mike Kerr and Valerie Van de Zilver, this year’s wine extravaganza is certain to be memorable. Limited to just 300 attendees with a passion for wine and/or charitable giving, the evening begins at 5:00 p.m. in the elegant surroundings of the five-diamond Island Hotel’s ballroom with appetizers, grand wine-tasting experiences and a silent auction. The lavish dinner begins at 7:15 p.m., culminating with an exciting live auction, featuring some of the finest wines and auction lots in the United States. The evening is designed to be both informative and fun for the wine expert and the novice.
